iMeta launches new AI modules to support the Mayor’s AI skills plan
The West Midlands is taking major steps to lead the UK in artificial intelligence skills and iMeta is proud to help turn that ambition into reality for every learner.
Following West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker’s £10 million AI skills initiative, announced this August, new AI learning modules are now live across iMeta’s funded training programmes.
The Mayor’s plans aim to give all adults in the region free access to AI training and create 100,000 new jobs in fast-growing sectors such as digital, manufacturing and healthcare.
For learners, this means every funded iMeta course now includes practical AI modules that show how the technology applies within their own field, whether that’s data, management, or technical fields like cybersecurity and IT.
From understanding how AI tools work to applying them in everyday tasks, iMeta learners can now build confidence in skills that employers are increasingly looking for.
The modules are already being delivered across our funded courses in IT infrastructure, data analytics, cybersecurity and digital leadership, ensuring that AI knowledge becomes accessible and relevant to everyone, not limited to those in traditional tech roles.
The six courses – Practical AI for Business, Business Data Analyst, Digital Leadership and Management, Professional Pen and Cyber Security, IT Infrastructure Technician and Skills bootcamp in Data — each include modules tailored to how AI applies to that sector.
As part of our funded courses, every learner also completes one or more practical, real-life projects, applying their new knowledge to a real-world business or community challenge.
This ensures iMeta alumni can demonstrate practical, sector-relevant experience with AI, creating a clear advantage when applying for new roles or progressing in their careers.
“Our goal is to give people across the West Midlands real confidence with AI and we are proud to be one of the first regional training providers to launch AI-specific modules in every course” said Mohammed Zur, CEO, iMeta
“Whether you’re returning to work, switching careers or upskilling in your current role, our new modules empower you to confidently use AI in your day-to-day role.”
The launch of our new modules marks an important step in ensuring AI skills are practical, inclusive and available to everyone. We are proud to be actively supporting the Mayor’s vision of a West Midlands ready for the future of work.
