Birmingham Tech Week 2025:
The Events You Can’t Miss

And just like that, Birmingham Tech Week rolls around again – marking a whole new year for the region’s technology sector. This year’s edition runs from 20–24 October 2025 across the West Midlands. Organisers, TechWM, expect more than 8,000 attendees, 60+ events, and over 100 speakers.
Whether you’re mid-course with us, recently graduated and looking for work, or just curious about the wider tech career space – from cool startups and digital skills trends to big-picture innovation – Tech Week is packed full of learning, networking, and genuine opportunities.
Why Tech Week Matters
Birmingham Tech Week isn’t just about talks and panels – it’s about building your network. Time and time again, we’ve said it: often it’s not what you know, but who you know. Creating your own little community of like-minded people is not just good for your career – it’s vital for your confidence and mental health. And let’s be real: free events, free food, and great conversation are always a win.
Here’s our pick of the events you should check out this year:
Future Tech Talent – 20th October, 1PM–6PM

Think of it as TED Talks meets industry showcase. Future Tech Talent is where tomorrow’s leaders pitch their ideas, and today’s investors and corporates get a front-row seat to the next big thing. Expect energy, creativity, and inspiration – with students and young professionals taking centre stage.

Tech Week Opening Night Party – 20th October, 6PM–Midnight

Pro tip: the opening night party is always the must-attend event. This is where networks are forged over canapés, music, and free refreshments. Expect a buzzing atmosphere, live bandeoke (yes, karaoke with a band), and conversations that start casually and turn into career opportunities. Don’t miss it.
Women in Tech Day – 21st October, 8:30AM–4PM | NatWest Hub, 2 St Philip’s Pl, B3 2RB

A full-day celebration of women shaping the tech sector. From leadership and funding to allyship, cyber workshops, and pitch competitions, this event is designed to inspire and empower. Whether you’re looking to build confidence, find mentors, or just hear from role models who’ve been there and done it, this is an essential stop.
Frontiers Day – 22 October, 9:30AM–5PM | The ICC, Centenary Sq

Frontiers Day merges TechWM’s Global Innovation Summit with the pilot of Frontiers Festival 2026. Think global investors, creative technologists, and academics coming together to push the boundaries of tech, culture, and sustainability. It’s a day of bold ideas and transformative collaboration – perfect if you want to see where the future is heading.
Cyber Crisis & Data Breach Simulation – 22 October, 4PM–6:30PM

Hosted by Shakespeare Martineau, this is a rare chance to step inside a live cyber-attack scenario. You’ll roleplay through the chaos of a breach – from triage and regulator notifications to media fallout and restoring systems. It’s a hands-on look at how legal, comms, and tech teams work under pressure. This is a fully-casted, fully immersive experience/show that’s been taking Europe and the US by storm.
For iMeta students interested in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, or crisis management, this is a certified-golden opportunity. Spaces are limited, so register quickly.
CyberVerse Unmasked – 23 October, 10AM–4PM | Location TBC

One of this year’s boldest new additions, CyberVerse dives deep into digital resilience. Expect talks on emerging cyber threats, demos of innovative security tech, and the chance to connect with experts tackling some of the most urgent challenges in our connected world.
Caribbean Tech Collective x Birmingham Tech Week – 23 October, 6PM–10PM

Community and representation matter. This networking mixer brings together Caribbean professionals, founders, and developers carving out space in the tech industry – often without the support networks others take for granted. Past mixers have sold out, so apply early if you want to be part of this powerful community event.
Final Thoughts

With so much going on across the week, our advice is to pick 2–3 anchor events that speak to your goals – then leave room for spontaneous connections and conversations. Whether you’re aiming for a career in cybersecurity, fascinated by startups, or just want to get inspired by the region’s tech ecosystem, Birmingham Tech Week has something for you.
So grab your diary, get your tickets in early, and we’ll see you out there.
