iMeta in the Community: Supporting Old Wulfrunians Womens FC

At iMeta, we believe everyone deserves a shot – whether that’s in education, in their career, or on the football pitch. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor Old Wulfrunians Women’s Football Club, a grassroots team with deep roots in Wolverhampton.
Old Wulfrunians – or “Old Wulfs” as they’re known – can trace their history back to the 1920s. The club has been running in its current form since 2005 and continues to be a hub for players, volunteers, and the local community – with the womens’ side . Grassroots clubs like this are more than just places to play sport – they’re spaces where people come together, build friendships, and create opportunities that last far beyond the pitch.
For the past couple of years, iMeta has been proud to play a small part in that journey. Our sponsorship helps the club cover the costs of their kit and helps with facilities, ensuring the players have what they need to thrive. And for us, it’s not just about putting our name on a shirt – it’s about aligning with what iMeta stands for: changing and improving people’s lives.
A super special shoutout to Old Wulf’s management team of Stuart Atkiss, Harvey Ravenscroft, and Club Development Manager, Jon Whitehouse, who have been instrumental in the club’s development. Their dedication reflects what community sport is all about – people giving their time and energy so that others can enjoy the game.
When we visited the team recently, the impact of the club was clear. Old Wulfs provides young women with a space to gather, organise, and grow – and the stories of the players prove just how much it matters. Check out the video above!
At iMeta, we’ll continue to champion initiatives like this because we know the difference grassroots football makes – to individuals, to communities, and to the future of the game.
